I'm curious about the reasons people choose to grow their own food. Since this is my first growing season, it wasn't my initial plan, but I'm finding it empowering, especially with the current rumors about food prices rising due to recession and tariffs. I've only started some seed trays but the idea of having homegrown food feels comforting, especially for sharing with family and elderly neighbors. So, what motivates you to grow your own food? How much of your diet comes from your own garden?

I just started growing my own food as a way to prepare for any future food shortages! Although I didn’t initially find it enjoyable, the hobby has really grown on me. Now, I’m learning everything I can and trying to grow enough to serve my family, and it’s been quite a journey!
I love growing my own food mainly because it tastes way better! Homegrown tomatoes are the best, and I enjoy the whole gardening process. Although I can’t rely on my garden for all my meals, I hope to increase my yield each year. It’s satisfying to see the plants grow and know exactly what I’m eating!
I get you! There's nothing like biting into a fresh tomato you grew yourself. I've started learning about heirloom varieties just for that amazing taste!
For me, it's all about the taste and the fun of it. I can't stand supermarket tomatoes anymore; they just don't compare to fresh ones from the garden! Plus, it's so rewarding to step outside and grab some veggies for lunch right from your own garden. It really enhances the whole cooking experience!
Totally agree! I only realized how much better fresh food is after I moved and started growing my own. I can't go back!

That sounds like a solid plan! I'm in a similar boat, just trying to learn as I go. Best of luck on your gardening journey!
