I recently bought a 10" Wen band saw from Facebook Marketplace, and I'm having a frustrating issue. Whenever I make a cut, the saw binds and slows to a stop, even though I'm only cutting materials that are 1/2" to 1" thick. I set up the blade a couple of months ago using the Snodgrass method, and it's been like this every time I've used it. Am I missing something important in my setup?

It sounds like your blade might be the culprit. Even if it's new, if it's not a great quality blade or if it wasn't installed correctly, it could cause issues—especially if the teeth are messed up. Just one wrong setup can ruin a new blade real quick.

I get the concern about a new blade, but I've had some that were just not right from the get-go. You might want to check if the blade guides are set up properly to avoid anything getting squashed.
