I can't believe I keep getting wood chips shot in my eye every time I use my DCF 577 7 1/4 saw. It's really frustrating! Dewalt seems to have overlooked a major issue since they don't offer an attachment for the guard. The hose attachment just blows wood debris everywhere, which is super annoying and makes it feel like there's no good solution for keeping things tidy while I work. Why hasn't this big company addressed such an obvious problem? It would be so easy for them to fix this and improve the user experience significantly!

Yeah, I get it! Trust me, trying to connect a hose at such a height isn’t practical at all. I actually just taped over my guard, but even then, it’s crazy how much debris still accumulates. Just doesn't seem right that the guards are so inefficient.
I get that this is frustrating, but it also sounds like there's some room for user error here. Sometimes it's all about adjusting your technique! Maybe check your setup before blaming the tool directly?

I bet they designed it to let material eject to avoid clogs in the guard. If you're set on keeping it clean, look into one of Dewalt's right angle attachments or a PVC elbow for the hose. Just be careful with it!
And seriously, how can the guard get so packed with stuff? You'd think they would find a way to design guards that don’t end up completely useless!
