I've been experiencing issues with my DeWalt planer since a piece of wood jammed in it a few weeks ago, causing the internal breaker to trip and breaking one of the sprockets. After replacing the sprocket, the planer worked for a bit, but now the breaker trips after only 15-20 minutes of light planing. This is really disrupting my workflow, especially when dealing with tougher woods. What should I check to resolve this issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

One common reason for breakers tripping is dull knives. They draw more current, which can overload the circuit. Make sure your blades are sharp and clean. A build-up of pitch or resin on the blades can also make them less effective and cause issues. So, check those out first!
I found a similar discussion online that might help. There could be various reasons for your issue. Here’s a link to a thread discussing the same problem: [Check it out here](https://www.lumberjocks.com/threads/dewalt-dw735-keeps-popping-internal-breaker.353990/). It might give you some more ideas to troubleshoot.
I had a similar issue with my DeWalt planer connected to a 15 amp circuit. It was tripping frequently, especially when sharing power with lights. The solution for me was to install a dedicated 20 amp circuit just for my power tools. It might be worth checking your electrical setup.
That's interesting! I've been using the same setup for years. I guess I could try plugging it directly into the wall to see if it still trips without an extension cord.
Definitely! If the blades are dirty, they won't cut properly and can cause strain, too.
