Hey everyone! My husband and I are currently in the process of painting our house, and we've encountered a strange issue. Despite applying 5 or 6 coats of paint, there are spots on the walls that look unfinished or uneven when viewed from certain angles. It's definitely dry and seems to be the same coat, but the pattern just doesn't look right. Has anyone experienced this? How can we fix it? I've attached some pictures to show you what I mean, with the second and third pics from different angles on the same wall. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Did you use a paint and primer combination? If so, you might want to consider sanding down the affected areas and applying a filler primer that will work well with your topcoat. It could really help with those patches.
Make sure you're prepping the walls properly next time. Sanding and cleaning them well can really help. You should also prime the surface before painting, which could help with that uneven look you’re seeing.
Definitely! A good primer can help smooth things out, even if you already painted over it.
Almost every wall can look uneven if you're looking at it from the side in low light. It's really a common issue! You might even notice screw pops in those conditions. Don’t stress too much; it happens to a lot of people.
It sounds like you might be dealing with a sheen issue. The type of paint sheen can really affect how the walls look under different lighting. Using a flat paint with a longer nap roller cover tends to minimize these kinds of imperfections when viewed from an angle. It could be worth experimenting with different tools or paint types for better results next time.
Yeah, I agree! Sheen can make a big difference. I noticed that switching to a semi-gloss helped my walls look more even.
Thanks for the tip! We’ll definitely consider changing up our approach next time.

We did sand and clean the walls multiple times. Do you think we should try priming those areas now?
