Why does my garage door reverse right at the sensors?

I've got a LiftMaster garage door that acts up whenever I try to close it. It goes down just fine, but right when it hits the sensors at the bottom, it reverses. The motor light blinks ten times, and the up/down arrows show a 4-6 error code. One sensor has a steady green light, turning off only when I block it, while the other shows a steady yellow light. I've cleaned the sensor lenses and even moved the yellow sensor around, but that amber light keeps coming back. I thought it was supposed to remain amber, around the internet it said so. Any tips on how to fix this would be super helpful!

You're correct about the amber light; it should stay on. Make sure the sensors are set up far enough from the wall so nothing breaks the beam. Also, check that the wiring to the sensors is secured well. Sometimes loose connections can cause these issues.

Yeah, those cheap LiftMaster sensors can be a bit of a pain. I've had to replace mine a few times when they start acting funky like this. Might be time to invest in a new pair if nothing else works!

You might want to check for any small obstructions in the way of the sensors. I had a similar problem with my garage door—turns out a leaf was stuck in a cobweb right at the sensor! Once I cleared that, the door worked perfectly again.
