Why Does My Track Saw Keep Cutting Into My Splinter Guard?

Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to woodworking and need help. My track saw keeps cutting into the splinter guard on my guide. After just a few cuts, I find it hard to align the guide with my mark, which leads to a lot of ripping and splintering. This happens with both my Bosch FSN and Evolution track saw guides. I'm cutting through 2cm multiplex using a Bosch Professional GKS 18V-57-2 GX that's only 4 months old. Any advice would be super appreciated!

It sounds like your splinter guards might need to be cut down before first use. Try increasing the blade speed and running the saw along the track to trim the splinter guard to the right size. This should help you better line up your cuts. If you’ve already done that and the issue continues, it might be worth checking the saw's play on the track.

I did trim it initially, but I think it’s the play that's throwing me off. I must have messed up the adjustment. Thanks for the tip!
