I've got an LG washing machine that shakes violently during the spin cycle, and it feels like it's shaking the whole house! It's on an elevated pedestal in a laundry room located on the second floor with wood floors. The house was built in the 1990s, and I'm really worried that this could cause some damage. I could really use some advice on how to lower the vibrations and make it more stable. Thanks a lot!

First off, check if both your washing machine and the pedestal are level. If they're not, that could cause the shaking. You might also want to consider getting some anti-vibration pads to put under the pedestal; they can really help absorb some of the movement.
Is this a new issue, or was it shaking like this before? If it's been going on for a while, the balancing rods inside might be worn out, especially if the machine isn't new. I had a similar problem, and once the balancing rods were replaced, it stopped shaking.

Thanks for the tip! It’s not a new machine, and I suspect the previous owners didn't really use it much, so they might not have noticed the issue.
