Why Does My Washing Machine Stay Wet Even After a Cycle?

Hey everyone! I have a quick question about my washing machine. I'm wondering if it's normal for it to stay damp after a wash cycle. Even when I leave the door open, it seems to take about 2-3 days for it to dry out completely, and there's still condensation on the surfaces. Luckily, my clothes never smell musty, but the machine definitely has a mildew odor. I've tried wiping down the rubber seals and even used a hairdryer inside the drum, but it still feels damp. Is this moisture something I should be worried about? Could it potentially damage my clothes and bedding? Thanks for any advice you can offer!

Just a heads up, whether you have a top loader or front loader, washers typically don't have a drying function. The humidity in your environment really impacts how fast things dry. If you're in a humid area or your machine is in a basement without a dehumidifier, that could explain the slow drying time.

I've got a few ideas for you! First, I recommend using a washing machine cleaner like Affresh; just follow the instructions on the package. If that doesn't help, it might be worth checking if your drain line is partially clogged, which can prevent all the water from being evacuated during the spin cycle. Good luck!

Great suggestion! I'll definitely try that, thanks!

Have you had a look at the filter? Cleaning it out can sometimes solve these dampness issues. I'd also suggest running a bedding or heavy-duty wash with warm water after cleaning it with some citric acid.
