Why is Garlic Sprouting in My Garden After Not Planting It?

So, this year I decided to switch things up and planted native wildflowers instead of garlic, which I've been growing for the past three years. Last year, I had a fantastic garlic harvest and thought I removed everything I planted. But now, I'm seeing garlic sprouting all over my garden bed, and it looks like it's almost as much as what I planted last time! Did I really miss harvesting that much garlic last summer, or is there something else going on?

Wow, sounds like a garlic miracle! Sometimes if you don’t get every clove out, they can just regrow on their own. It’s like a bonus harvest! Just make sure to keep an eye on them as they grow—might end up with a great surprise in the end!

Honestly, I’m not complaining! It’ll be nice to have fresh garlic again.

It’s possible that some of your garlic bulbs went to seed or that there were some little cloves left in the soil after harvesting. Garlic can be sneaky like that, just popping up when you least expect it! Even the tiniest piece can sprout if conditions are right. Might as well enjoy some free garlic!

I had a similar experience! I thought I’d cleaned up everything, but a few surprise shoots appeared later.
