I've got a serious shopping habit and usually have no trouble at all finding what I need. But I'm currently on a mission to track down a 2.5-inch angled brush made of nylon (or partly nylon), which is a super popular size for cutting in. My issue is that I can't find a single one labeled as medium firmness, which seems to be the most recommended option. I've checked Home Depot, Lowes, and even Amazon, but to no avail. I'm really curious about what's going on here. Is there some sort of conspiracy to get us into the stores? Or maybe these brush manufacturers have a deal to keep them off Amazon? It honestly makes no sense to me why these brushes aren't listed first on any website, in any material.

Check out the Wooster Shortcut; I think Home Depot carries them, and they might be available on Amazon too. Just a heads up, "medium" stiffness might not always be specified, so keep in mind that you’re mainly looking at stiff and soft brushes.
Sometimes these brushes aren't clearly marked. Try to find out which brand they're under and look directly on the manufacturer's site—like Purdy, Wooster, or Linzer. Midgrade brushes tend to be polyester, while the pricier pro options usually use more nylon. Also, consider visiting a dedicated paint store like Sherwin Williams. They typically have more knowledge about their products and a better selection.
Have you tried checking out an art supply store? They sometimes carry brushes that aren’t easily found in standard home improvement stores.

It's more about the mystery of why they're hard to find than the actual search. I can go to Lowes, but there should be a clearer supply across more platforms!
