Why Is My Basement Kitchen Sink Drain Slow and Glugging?

I've got this kitchen sink in my basement that doesn't see much use, but lately, I've noticed that when I run the water, it starts filling up as if it's clogged. Then it drains for a bit but starts filling up again. Any idea what's going on?

It could also just be a venting issue. Sometimes the air pressure doesn't balance properly in the pipes, leading to that 'glugging' sound. If you haven't checked the vents for blockages, that might be worth looking into too.

It sounds like you might have a blockage somewhere in your drain line. It could be caused by a build-up of grease, hair, or even roots if you're connecting to an old sewer line. I’d definitely recommend getting that sewer line checked out, as it can help identify any hidden issues.
