Hey everyone! We just moved into our new house and hired professionals to paint the bathrooms. It's only been 5 days since they finished, and we moved in just 4 days ago. We've only used the downstairs shower about 7 times, and I just noticed that the paint above the shower is bubbling, and when I touched it, it started peeling off. There are several spots like this. I'm not sure what type of ceiling paint was used. Is it fair to ask the painters to come back and fix this?

Also keep in mind that if your bathrooms lack good ventilation, that can contribute to paint issues like this. It's crucial to reduce moisture to keep the paint intact.
As someone who's been painting interiors for 30 years, I can tell you this shouldn’t happen! It sounds like the walls weren’t prepped properly before painting. Also, areas like ceilings above showers should be checked for loose or poorly adhered paint. One quick trick is to stick some masking tape on the area; if loose paint comes off with the tape, that’s a sign they didn’t do their prep work right.
Definitely reach out to them! If the job was done right, this shouldn’t be happening so soon after painting. You deserve a quality finish. I hope the other bathrooms are okay too!
Thank you! I'm really hoping we don't see similar problems in the other bathrooms. We haven't used them yet because we need to fix some cracked grout first.

Thanks for the insight!
