Hey everyone! I recently picked up a DCH172 from Amazon, and I'm having a weird issue. No matter which of my six bits (Dewalt, Bosch, Milwaukee) I use, it feels like the bit is wobbling around instead of spinning straight—kind of like a blender! I posted a video to show what I'm talking about: [check it out here](https://youtube.com/shorts/XyMfVEhMfzg). I've even replaced the original unit, but the replacement does the same thing. I tried the same bits on a Milwaukee drill (not mine, but I gave it a go), and they spun just fine. Should I keep trying to exchange it until I find one that works, or is there something else I should consider? Also, could someone test it with a longer bit (at least 250mm) and see if it functions properly?

It sounds like you're dealing with an SDS drill, and a bit of wobble is pretty common—especially with longer bits. They’re designed for hammering into concrete, so they’re not precision tools. But I get your frustration! Even SDS bits can spin straight on some drills, like the Milwaukee you mentioned. You might want to keep troubleshooting or checking for a more reliable model if this keeps happening.
Have you tried putting some pressure on the drill when you start? I know it sounds simple, but applying downward pressure often helps eliminate play, and the bit can drill more accurately. If you're still getting oversized holes, that’s definitely an issue. That's frustrating, especially if you’re dealing with dismissive sizes on your fittings.

Yeah, pressing down helps a little, but the holes are still way bigger than they should be. I had to make eight holes to fix one 8mm Fischer, and most turned out too large, making them useless.
