I have a dishwasher that stopped draining, so I vacuumed out the drain line, and it worked fine for a week or two. Now it's failing to drain again. I didn't hear any solid blockages come loose when I vacuumed, but it did seem to work temporarily. What could be the underlying issue?

It could be a faulty drain pump. If you activate the drain cycle and it doesn't really do anything, that’s a key sign. I replaced mine and it was an easy fix—just cost me about $28.
If it's a Frigidaire model, they tend to have issues like this. You might want to consider swapping it for a different brand on marketplace.
It sounds like your pump impeller might be stuck. You may need to pull out the dishwasher and check if the pump and impeller are able to spin freely.
Have you tried pouring some water down the internal drain? This can help you check the flow rate. If it backs up, you may have a different blockage somewhere.

Do you mean in the sink or just in the dishwasher? I've checked the sink and that wasn't the issue.
