There are no appliances like a fridge or a stove, and I only turned on the lights once for cleaning. Is it possible someone could be stealing my electricity, or does this bill seem accurate? For comparison, my average monthly bill at my previous house was only $59.

Make sure to check if your bill is based on an estimated reading or if they did an actual meter reading. I faced a similar situation when I bought my house—I got an inflated first bill too until I started submitting my own readings. Now I’ve got credit on my account!
If you have old heating or cooling systems that are running non-stop, that might be racking up your bill. You should definitely check if something is running without you knowing!
That’s what I’m worried about! I think maybe my neighbor is stealing power since I spotted them running off a generator.
