About two months ago, I had a full tear-off roof replacement on my house, which I've lived in for eight years. Since the new roof was installed, my wife and I have noticed that the house is getting significantly warmer during the day. Previously, we didn't have central air but could keep our home a few degrees cooler than outside by opening the windows at night and closing them in the morning. Now, it seems the indoor temperature matches the outside temperature by the afternoon. Could there have been something done incorrectly during the roof installation that's causing this issue?

First thing you might want to check is whether the roofers removed any of your roof vents. Sometimes during a roof replacement, those can get overlooked, and ventilation is key to keeping your house cool.
Also, just to throw it out there, has the weather changed recently? Sometimes, temperature shifts can just be attributed to the season. Maybe it’s warmer outside, which could make it feel hotter in your house.
It’s worth inspecting your attic insulation as well. I had a similar issue where the blown-in insulation got disturbed during my roofing job, leaving some bare spots that really affected temperatures. Make sure everything’s covered well!
There are a lot of possibilities here! If there were two roofs on the house before they stripped it, then the extra insulation could've kept things cooler. Also, if they installed ridge vents, make sure those are clear from the attic—there needs to be sufficient airflow from soffit vents too. Otherwise, the air won’t circulate properly, and you’ll end up with heat trapped in your house. Also, check if gable vents were blocked during the installation.

I don't think they removed any vents, but I'll double-check and confirm with them.
