Why is my M12 rivet gun having trouble ejecting mandrels?

Hey everyone! I got an M12 rivet gun about a month ago, and I've been using it for various projects. However, I've run into a frustrating issue where about 50% of the time, the mandrel gets stuck partially ejected or doesn't come out at all. I often have to hold the gun with the tip facing up and cycle it again to get it to eject properly. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if there's a defect with the rivet gun. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've had a similar issue! My gun only ejects the mandrel from the back if one is already stuck in the chamber when I try to use it again. This has been a consistent problem for me, too. It can be pretty annoying, especially since I’ve used mine for around 10,000 rivets over the year. Not sure if it's just a common issue or what.

Yeah, I noticed the same! Holding the tool straight up helps, but it’s still a hassle.

I've heard this is a pretty common problem with the M12. You're definitely not alone in this! Some people have found that adjusting how they use it can help.

This seems to happen more with smaller rivets. I've found it helpful to do an extra cycle in between rivets while keeping the gun vertical. You could also consider reducing the inner diameter of the eject tube so that it doesn’t jam as often. I used mine for about 8,000 rivets on my first job, and it worked well for that.
