Why is my new M12 2508 SDS barely chipping?

Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to using SDS tools and usually stick to a drill with a hammer function when needed. Recently, I got the M12 2508 to help with anchors and chipping out mortar between bricks, but I'm finding the chipping function seems really weak. It hardly makes a mark on my packout lid when I try it in chisel mode. Is this normal, or might my tool be defective?

It sounds like it could be a dud. I just got mine a couple of days ago but haven't tried it yet. In Milwaukee's description, they say the chipping mode is mainly for 'light material removal,' which isn't super helpful. You might want to check out some YouTube reviews; there's a guy who rock climbs and does a good review of this tool. Also, reaching out to Milwaukee for clarification wouldn't hurt either.

Yeah, I saw that review too! The guy is Australian with some wild shades! But my tool doesn’t seem to have enough power to chip even stone. I'll keep testing it.
