I recently installed a new motor on my Ferax FCS 250 P table saw after the old one burnt out, likely due to overheating. The new motor is a 2.2 kW (3 hp) single-phase (230 V) unit, but I'm noticing that it feels underpowered. The blade takes ages to reach full speed and struggles even with light cuts, like crosscutting 25 mm thick pine or ripping through 10 mm oak. What could be causing this issue?

Another possibility is the start capacitor. If it’s not functioning correctly, it could impact the motor's initial power. However, since it’s a new motor, it might be less likely, but it’s still worth investigating to rule out.
Have you checked to see if the belt is slipping? That could definitely make the motor feel sluggish. Sometimes it can wear down or stretch, which affects performance. If it is slipping, you might hear some squealing, but it can also just be under tension enough to not make noise. Might be worth a look!
