Why Is My Outdoor Hose Spigot Dribbling?

I've been noticing that the water pressure on my outdoor hose spigot has dropped significantly to just a trickle since spring. We usually don't have the best water pressure, but it was always sufficient for the hose. Is it worth calling a plumber for this issue?

Did you perhaps hire someone to winterize your plumbing? If so, they might have isolated the spigot. Check inside to follow the pipe connected to the spigot; there's likely a gate or ball valve that you need to open up. This could be an easy fix!

We didn't actually winterize, so I'm wondering if that could be causing the low pressure.

I think calling a plumber is a good idea. The thought that there might be a leak somewhere can be really unnerving, and a professional could help pinpoint the issue.

It's a good idea to shut off all the taps in your house and then take a look at your water meter. If it's still turning, that could indicate a leak. You might want to call an emergency plumber in that case!
