I'm having a problem with my outdoor spigot; every time I attach a hose, it leaks water. I've tried using Teflon tape on the threads, but that hasn't fixed the issue. Is replacing the spigot the only option? The leak creates a mud puddle each time I use the hose, so it's becoming annoying.

You might want to check the rubber washer in your hose connection. Sometimes, adding an extra washer can help create a better seal. Also, inspect the spigot itself for any burrs or damages that could be causing the leak. Just a heads up, Teflon tape is generally unnecessary for this kind of connection since it relies on the rubber gasket to seal.
Have you figured out exactly where the leak is coming from? You could use a spray bottle with soapy water—just spray it while you apply some pressure with an inflated balloon over the spigot. The bubbles will show you where the leak is happening. If it’s coming from the threads, that’s key information!
Do you have another hose handy to try out? Make sure that hose has a good rubber washer at the end. If not, even the best spigot might leak! Also, check if your spigot has an anti-siphon valve; if that's the culprit, switching hoses won't help at all.
