Hey everyone, I've been hearing this sharp clicking or tapping noise coming from the patio door area at night, and it's only happening when the AC is running. The sound is quick and intermittent, almost like metal or glass snapping due to temperature changes. The weird thing is that the AC unit is across the room, so it shouldn't be direct vibration affecting the door. It sounds like it's coming from the door frame or the glass itself. I've read that it might be due to thermal expansion or contraction from the AC cooling the space. Has anyone experienced this before? Any tips on how to reduce the noise? It's really bothering us at night, especially since we just moved to Dubai and the temperatures are rising.

It sounds like it could be related to the door's pull string shades or blinds. I've seen those plastic ends make similar noises. Maybe check if that’s the source?
This might be due to negative pressure from the AC, which can pull air through the patio. Check around the door edges and window cords for anything that might be shifting with the airflow. Also, make sure your AC filter is clean to avoid pressure issues.
It could simply be that the AC is blowing on the door, cooling the glass. The temperature change may make the glass contract a bit and create that popping sound. Just a thought!
It's possible that the condensation line from your AC is dripping onto something metallic nearby, causing that tapping sound. Have a look at where the condensation line runs to see if that's the case.

I checked, but the door has a mosquito screen that's built into a frame. I don't think it’s the blinds making the noise.
