Why is the hot water pressure suddenly so low?

Hey everyone, I've noticed that the hot water pressure in my kitchen sink has dropped significantly lately, but the cold water runs just fine. Also, my dishwasher, which is next to the sink, isn't cleaning properly anymore. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Thanks in advance for your help!

It sounds like there might be something blocking the hot water line. Since your cold water is working fine, I’d check under the sink first. Look for the valves and make sure they’re fully open. If that doesn’t help, you may need to inspect the pipe for debris. Don’t forget to shut off the water at the main before you dive into any plumbing! I once had a similar problem where a piece of plastic wrap was stuck. If you’re uncomfortable tackling it yourself, calling a plumber might be the way to go.

Have you ever drained your water heater? Sometimes sludge can build up and cause clogs. Even if your water heater is relatively new, it might still be worth checking out. A little maintenance can go a long way!

If the bathroom water pressure is fine, then it might just be some gunk in the hot water lines. You might want to try a backflush to see if that clears it up. And if it works, replacing the aerator could be a good idea, as it might be clogged too.
