Why Is There No Proper Cell Balancing in Milwaukee M18 and Forge Batteries?

I'm curious why Milwaukee still doesn't have proper cell balancing in their M18 and Forge battery packs. Competitors like DeWalt, Makita, Bosch, Hilti, and Metabo have already managed to implement this. It's frustrating to see Milwaukee's premium batteries pushing users towards DIY solutions with RC chargers. What gives?

I feel you. Corporate decisions often lean towards profit rather than improving features that could minimize battery obsolescence. It’s a shame because better balancing would definitely help reduce environmental impact and longevity issues.

It's kind of wild that they have the hardware in place for balancing but just aren't using it. While some brands do balance their packs, I've noticed that Milwaukee doesn't seem to prioritize that feature. It makes you wonder if they account for how often people buy replacements instead.

Honestly, Milwaukee might not feel the need to fix this. As long as people keep buying their batteries and tools, they probably think there’s no real issue to address. Profit margins can outweigh the need for upgrades in features, especially when consumers are still satisfied as is.
