Why is there water pooling at the corner of my siding?

Hey everyone, I'm a first-time homeowner and I'm not very familiar with home maintenance. I've noticed that every time it rains, a small puddle of water forms under the corner of my siding. We do have gutters, so I'm confused about why this is happening. Could anyone help me figure out what might be causing this? I've attached some pictures to show where the issue is and how the siding is installed. Thanks in advance for your help! -Nrv

It sounds like you have a J-channel at the bottom of your siding. When it rains, water can run down the siding and collect in this channel before draining out. If you notice water pooling, it's a good idea to check if the channel is clogged or if the siding is installed properly. This is pretty common, but definitely worth investigating to prevent any damage.

I get your concern! Even though the water collects in the J-channel, it's important to make sure it’s draining properly to avoid any leaks inside your home. If you're worried about water getting behind the siding, consider checking the seals and the installation. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, it might be a good idea to bring in a professional to assess the situation.
