Why Is Water Still Coming Out of My Shower Head?

I've been dealing with a frustrating issue where water keeps coming out of my shower head even after I've done a full remodel. I installed a new shower head and tub faucet, and I've switched the entire faucet setup twice thinking one might be faulty. I also replaced the existing copper pipes with pex. I was wondering if the water pressure might be too high but I'm not sure why the diverter isn't stopping the water as it should. Does anyone have any suggestions or insights?

It sounds like you might have pex connected between your mixer valve and the tub spout, which could be causing the issue. If that’s the case, that setup can lead to problems where the diverter doesn't work properly. Double-check those connections!

Can confirm, this is the correct answer.

So just to clarify, are you saying that having pex there is the issue?
