Why Isn’t Milwaukee’s Miter Saw Improving?

I've been using my Milwaukee miter saw for a while now, and honestly, I wish they could step up their game. Today on a job site, I borrowed a Makita XGT for a small task, and it blew me away. I'm still holding onto my Dewalt in the hope Milwaukee will revamp their miter saws. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Look, in terms of reliability, Makita tools are tough to beat. I’ve got a hodgepodge of Milwaukee, Dewalt, and Ryobi gear. My one Makita blower has been so impressive, I'm considering adding more of their tools to my collection—even though I’m wary of juggling five platforms!

Haha, I feel you on that! I've got a mix too—Milwaukee, Dewalt, Bosch... it's getting crowded.

Legit, trying to stick with one brand has its perks, but the best tools come from all around.

I’ve had great experiences with the 8” and 12” Milwaukee models, but that 10” really didn’t meet expectations. It feels like they’ve missed a chance to update it to be on par with the better units in their lineup.

Agreed! I'm puzzled why they haven’t upgraded the 10” model since it’s the odd one out.

The 10” was the only Milwaukee saw I've ever used, and I haven't had good luck with it either.

I think Milwaukee is focusing too much on compact tools and the M12 line, while their larger saws haven't kept up with competitors like Dewalt Flexvolt and Makita 36v. Their MX line batteries are also pretty bulky. That's a big reason their miter saws feel behind the times.

True, I appreciate the M12 lineup too, but honestly, I'd like to see some better options for their larger tools.

I'm not sure I agree. The output of Milwaukee’s 18v Forge batteries is actually higher than Makita's 40v offerings, so it seems like a case of marketing more than performance.
