Why Should I Spend on Annuals When They Don’t Come Back?

I love the beautiful annual flowers in my growing zone, but I struggle to justify the cost since they only last a season. Can someone help me see the benefits of investing in annuals?

Hey there! Think of it this way: you spend money on tickets for a movie or dining out, right? Those only last a couple of hours. With annuals, you get beauty and color all season long! Life’s too short to skimp on enjoying the blooms. Plus, you can always find flowers that reseed themselves, which means you get to enjoy them again and again!

That’s how I see it as well! I focus on what brings me joy, like those spontaneous evening strolls in the garden with my partner. The happiness those annuals bring feels worth every penny! And don’t forget – you can always choose what you want to plant, no one else’s rules affect your garden!

Honestly, I don’t feel the need to justify my spending. I just enjoy having those vibrant flowers around! I set aside a budget each year for annuals, and it’s worth every penny, especially with the short growing season here in Canada. Plus, starting some from seeds can help with costs!
