Hey everyone! I'm a long-time Dewalt fan, but I'm facing some serious issues with their battery-powered tools for the first time. I've been doing home renovations and decided to buy a Dewalt cordless impact drill since I was stripping screws with my regular drill. I got the 20v Max Atomic impact drill as part of a great sale, which included a battery and charger. However, after charging the battery overnight, I found it was still only showing a 50% charge. The charger indicates it's fully charged with a solid red light, but it doesn't work. I've gone through three full sets of the drill, battery, and charger and all have the same battery charging issue. Is this a common problem with the Dewalt 20v Max Lithium Ion batteries? Am I experiencing user error, or did I just get stuck with bad batteries? I'm really hoping to stick with Dewalt, but this quality issue has me reconsidering!

It sounds like you might not be inserting the battery fully into the charger. Often, you have to really push it in to get a good connection. If the battery doesn’t click in or seat properly, it won’t charge as it should. Just make sure it’s really snug in there before you start charging.
Totally agree! I had to learn the hard way too. It's really important to ensure that the battery is fully in for the charger to recognize it.
Yeah, that's a common issue! I had a similar problem where I thought it was charging, but the battery wasn't seated properly. A good tap to properly seat it fixed everything for me.
