Hey everyone! I recently installed a new front door handle and lock, and while it seems fine for the most part, there's a strange issue. The inside thumb-turn only locks the door when the key is in place outside. Plus, I can only remove the key when the door isn't locked. Am I missing something here, or did I just buy a faulty handle?

Have you tried turning the key twice instead of once? Sometimes that can help too!
What brand and model of lock did you get? Knowing that might help narrow down the problem!
It sounds like the inner and outer parts of the lock might be misaligned. I suggest taking it apart and turning the inner knob a half turn before reinstalling it. Also, double-check that the outer part is positioned correctly with respect to the latch. That could definitely cause the issue you’re experiencing.

I'm in Brunei, and it was one of the only two locks available at my local DIY store. The only markings on it say LONGKA and SUS-304.
