Why Won’t One Burner on My Gas Range Light Properly?

I'm having an issue with my natural gas GE range where one of the burners won't light. I can see a spark and hear the clicking sound. Interestingly, I can light it with a match, and once it's lit, it stays on from high to low without any issues. I've checked the metal cap and the other piece covering the orifice, but they look fine to me. Could anyone share some troubleshooting tips?

I had a similar issue with one of my burners. To avoid the hassle, I just use a long lighter to ignite that burner. It’s not a fix, but it definitely saves me from using matches every time!

Yeah, that sounds like a good workaround! Matches can be a bit tricky.

It sounds like the sparking mechanism might be a tad misaligned and not close enough to the burner. A tiny adjustment could potentially solve the problem. Just a thought!

Have you checked if the spark is actually hitting the burner? Sometimes the burner covers are placed incorrectly, which can block the spark. Make sure they're seated right on top of the burner.
