Will 20lb Command Strips Support My 15lb Chalkboard?

I'm trying to hang a 36 x 48 chalkboard in my home, but I can't drill holes into the walls. I'm considering using 2 packs of 20lb XL Command Strips to hold it up. Since I'll be using the chalkboard regularly, do you think they'll be strong enough?

If you manage to distribute the weight evenly with two Command Strips, you should be fine. But if not, it might not hold as well. Just check what kind of hangers are on the back of your chalkboard; that could change things a bit.

I've had a horrible experience with Command Strips and wouldn’t trust them with something heavy again. I had a setup that ended up causing a big mess when a strip failed, glass everywhere, and my dog hurt her paw. It was a nightmare!

Yikes, that sounds awful! And remember, if they do work initially but later peel off, you could risk damaging your drywall.

That happened to me too! I think the adhesive just lost its grip over time.
