I'm considering a house with an 8' wide garage door, and the garage inside is about 10' wide. It seems a bit tight in person. Do you think an 8' door will be sufficient for parking a sedan such as a Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic? The parking would be straightforward, in and out. What's the experience of others with similar setups?

I’ve got an 8' garage door, and I can fit my full-size truck and a Suburban through it, though it's snug. So, a sedan like a Civic or Corolla should definitely have enough room, especially since those are narrower vehicles.
Both the Corolla and Civic are about 6' wide, so you'll have a foot of clearance on either side once you're in. If you can't park straight in that, then it might be worth practicing a bit!
Totally doable! 8' is the standard width for garage doors. SUVs can fit without issue, so a Civic or Corolla should be easy enough. Just be mindful as you park!
Yes, it should work fine! I've parked in tighter spaces before, and it becomes second nature. If you want to be extra sure, try measuring your car's width to confirm the fit.
You must be using folded mirrors! I drive a Silverado, which is 103" wide with mirrors, and I really struggle to fit it through my 9' door. But for a sedan, it should be just fine.
