Will Beams Affect My Ceiling Fan’s Performance?

I'm planning to install a 52" ceiling fan at the spot marked with an X in my room. However, I'm concerned about whether the beams on the side that are about 8" high will hinder the fan's performance if I don't drop it below their height. What do you think?

Definitely, the beams will impact the fan's performance to some extent, but honestly, it's probably not going to be noticeable. Ceiling fans are already inefficient by design, and even with those beams, it’ll just drop from about 10% efficiency to 9.9%. So, you should be fine!

That’s true, but if you can, dropping it below the beams will help it work more effectively.

You should really drop the fan past those beams if you want it to work well. Even a little height can make a difference in airflow, especially when it's running in reverse and trying to push air downward.

It shouldn’t be a huge issue with the airflow, but yeah, you may want to consider the height due to the beams. In theory, they affect performance, but practically speaking, you can install it at the height you want. Ceiling fans are designed to circulate enough air despite those beams.
