I'm curious about DeWalt's battery lineup. Is there any indication that they're planning to phase out the PowerStack batteries for the PowerPack ones? I've heard that the PowerPack provides a longer runtime. Also, with the new 4Ah version on the way, are they likely to release a 2Ah variant of the PowerPack as well? Additionally, I'd like to know how long the 1.7Ah PowerStack lasts when used with a DCL044 light.

No need to worry about any phasing out; DeWalt plans to keep both PowerStack and PowerPack technologies around. The PowerStack has been around for a bit longer, but they do have a 4Ah PowerPack coming soon. So far, there hasn’t been any news on a 2Ah option.
These batteries are quite different in design—cylinder cells for PowerStack and pouch cells for PowerPack. Given that they just introduced the 3.5Ah PowerStack and with the 4Ah PowerPack launching later this year, it looks like DeWalt is committed to both formats for now.

Yeah, I get that they’re different. Just frustrating not getting clear answers to my questions. I've got the DCL040 with an old 1.7Ah PowerStack to hold me over for now.
