Is there a chance that modular toolboxes could become fully compatible with each other? I think there should be universal mounts and adapters so that, for example, I could place a Makita coffee pot on my Milwaukee three-drawer while it's sitting on a DeWalt Toughbox. I know this could be achieved with some modifications, but I'm really talking about true universal compatibility here. It's frustrating that some of my ratchets fit into my Packouts only if I go for the massive version that only has a lid, making it a hassle to access my tools. I believe modular toolboxes should adopt this universal concept, even if it means the colors don't match!

Honestly, I don’t see that happening unless there’s a major push for it from higher up. There’s just too much profit to be made by keeping people locked into certain brands and systems. It kind of stinks because universal compatibility would make life so much easier!
Yeah, I totally get that. But hey, a guy can dream, right? Every time I walk through Home Depot, I notice how some brands have figured out things better than others. And when Packout was first introduced, I couldn't help but wonder how you were supposed to access items at the bottom without unstacking everything. It’s like they didn’t consider real-world use at all!
