Will My Couch Fit Through My Apartment Door?

Asked By QuirkyDude94 On

I'm trying to figure out if my couch can make it through my apartment door. The door is 82 inches tall and 33 inches wide, while my couch measures 36 inches in height, 90 inches in width, and 43 inches in depth. I found a reference link for the couch [here](https://ibb.co/20j3Hs5W). Any thoughts? Thanks!

Don’t forget to measure the clearances! You’ll want to check from side to side and also from the top of the threshold to the ceiling. There might be unexpected issues like walls right next to the door that can mess things up. I had a couch stuck once because of that. Make sure you have a straight path after the door!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll double-check the measurements.

You should be good to go! Just try removing the back cushions and maybe the feet if you can. You might need to tilt it a bit at a 45-degree angle when going through the door, but it should fit without too much hassle.

If all else fails, just cut it in half and turn it into two chairs! Just kidding, but it’s a thought. Lucky for you, if it’s a two-piece couch, it should come apart easily, which might help a lot.

Most couches can squeeze through with those dimensions, especially if you take off the legs and maybe rotate it onto its back. Just make sure to plan it out a bit!
