Hey everyone! I recently had some landscapers come to take care of my yard, and they ended up chopping a lot of the leaves off my Iris plants. I'm not very hands-on with gardening anymore, and these plants have been thriving for a few years now with lots of blooms. I'm a bit worried about how this will affect them moving forward. I also plan to plant more rhizomes and some daffodils soon, so any advice would be great!

It’s a bit late in the season for heavy pruning, but your plants will likely bounce back. Just make sure you remind your landscapers not to do that again! Irises need their leaves for photosynthesis, especially for growing bulbs.
I cut mine back every year when they start to look rough, and they always grow back even stronger the next year. So I wouldn’t worry too much about this! Plus, don’t forget to add some Epsom salts before winter – it’s great for Irises!
At this time of year, your Irises should be fine! It's not the best practice to cut them back so late, but they usually have enough energy stored to make it through winter just fine.
