Will Replacing My Anvil Affect My Warranty?

I recently purchased the mid-torque M18 impact model 2962P-20, taking advantage of a discount. However, I was surprised to learn that I need a tool to release sockets due to the pin system. I've heard that some people swap out the detent pin for a friction ring (model 42-06-2555), but I'm concerned if doing this will void the warranty on my brand new tool. Can anyone clarify?

Replacing the anvil itself should be fine as long as you don’t damage anything while doing it. Just make sure to revert everything back to factory settings before sending it in for any service, and your warranty should stay intact!

Actually, I think there's a mix-up with the part number you're looking for. The 42-06-2555 is for a different model. You want the 42-06-2962 for your 2962P-20 impact.
