I'm curious about how the fans on the super charger operate. Do they only kick in when using forge packs, or will they cool any battery that's placed on the charger? I'm considering adding some vents to my 12.0 HO case to enhance cooling, but I don't have the charger yet to test it myself.

I've been thinking about this too. I wonder if the Forge 8 and 12 batteries, having those vent slots, come with extra waterproofing internally compared to others? Has anyone done a teardown to check this out?
The fans on the super charger actually work with all types of batteries, not just the forge packs. But keep in mind that the forge batteries are designed with vents that let the fan cool them better. So, it sounds like drilling vents in your HO case could be a good move for extra cooling!
That's true, but not all forge batteries have that vent design. I checked my 6.0 pack, and it doesn't have vents. Just a heads up if you were planning to rely on that!
Thanks! I have a couple of forge batteries, so I'm good there. Just wanted to confirm that the venting would actually make a difference before getting started.

I actually took one apart, and nope, there's really no waterproofing in there. The internal plastic is designed to prevent things from dropping right into the cells, but that's about it. You can actually see the cells through the bottom vent if you look closely.
