Will Using Tung Oiled Oak on My Thicknesser Cause Problems?

I'm wondering if it's a bad idea to run a tung oiled oak board through my thicknesser. Is there a chance that the oil will gum up the machine and cause issues?

Interesting point! Are we calling planers thicknessers these days? Just curious if there’s a specific reason for that.

Yeah, I think people use both terms interchangeably, but it's good to know the distinction. I've heard there’s a difference between the two!

You should be fine using a tung oiled oak board in your thicknesser. Just keep an eye on it, and if you're concerned, you could always run a test piece first.
