Would you be open to getting a quote through something like Facetime or by sending in photos, or do you think it's better to have someone come by in person to measure and inspect the area before providing a price? Honestly, I’d prefer a firm quote rather than just an estimate. If I send in measurements and pictures, they should respect that and not suddenly double the price after seeing the place. If they need to adjust based on hidden issues, like wall damage, they should state that upfront and make sure I’m okay with it. Transparency is key!
I totally get that fear! I’d worry about hidden damage too. If they could guarantee that if no major repairs were needed, the quote wouldn’t change, I might be more comfortable with a remote estimate. But I really like having someone look at it in person just to be safe.
For smaller painting jobs, I think remote estimates can totally work if you provide clear photos. But for larger jobs, like painting a whole house, I feel like it's best for someone to come and check it out in person to give an accurate quote. What do you think?
