I've noticed that ladybugs (or are they actually Asian beetles?) are getting into my rented home through small gaps. Can anyone share effective ways to stop them from coming inside?

Be careful because those are likely Asian beetles, not the cute ladybugs you think they are! They like to hibernate in the cracks of your home. To tackle them, vacuum them up regularly and seal any entry points. You might also want to wipe areas with soapy water to remove their scent trails. If you want to spray, look for something like Ortho Home Defense, but keep in mind it isn't particularly effective against Asian beetles.
Since you're renting, I'd recommend spraying insecticide along the floorboards and around the house's perimeter. You can also use diatomaceous earth (DE) outside to keep them from coming in. And if you know where they're getting in, try sealing those gaps up properly with caulk or spray foam!
They might not be regular ladybugs, but rather Asian beetles which are known for invading homes. A good method to deal with them is to use a shop vacuum to suck them up when you see them around. It’s quick and can really help reduce the numbers you have inside.
