What Smaller Projects Can I Make with My Extra Hardwood?

I recently bought some hardwood at a great price—specifically, two pieces of 1 1/2" x 6" x 36" Ambrosia Maple and one 3/4" x 4" x 8' Cherry. However, I'm not sure what to create with them (and I realize I should've planned ahead). Could anyone suggest some smaller projects I might tackle with these pieces? Just to note, I'm not too interested in making a cutting board, haha!

Have you thought about any home decor items you might need? Maybe a lamp, coat rack, nightstand, or something like that? Also, think about projects for friends or family who might appreciate a handmade gift. When you're stuck for ideas, browsing DIY sites or even just doodling can spark some inspiration.

Why not consider making a stylish tray or a shallow bowl? Those could be practical and fun projects that let you showcase the wood's beauty!

It all depends on if those boards are S4S or not and what tools you've got. With the dimensions you've provided, you could totally whip up a small stool, a side table, or even a nice decorative box!

The Cherry is S3S, while the Maple is S2S.

You might want to hold onto those pieces until you figure out the right project. There's no rush! When the perfect idea strikes, you'll be glad you saved them.
