Hey everyone! I'm new to woodworking and I'm building some banquette seating for my kitchen. I want to use a Kreg Rip-Cut tool for cutting down plywood, but I've got a tricky situation. I need to make 45-degree angle cuts for two pieces of plywood that will meet in a corner. I have a circular saw with a beveling shoe that can pivot up to 50 degrees. I'm just not sure if the Kreg tool works for angled cuts or if it's strictly for straight cuts. Any advice?

Using the Kreg tool will help ensure your cuts are straight, and it’s great that it will handle those angles too! Just make sure that if you’re clamping your straight edge at the 45-degree angle, it stays secure while you cut. Scribing your cuts is also a good idea since, like you said, the walls in older homes can be wonky!
Just to clarify, the Rip-Cut tool is ideal for straight cuts, but for your angled corners, it might not be the best match. You can definitely use a straight edge for the miters though. Don’t forget to check if your corner is actually 90 degrees, because older homes can be a bit off!
Good call on checking the corners! My house is from the 40s, so I’ll definitely have to account for that!
You can definitely angle your saw! Just set it to 45 degrees like you mentioned. Using a straight edge will really help you get that clean edge for your cuts, and the Kreg tool will be perfect for keeping everything aligned while you're working. It's great that you’re learning the differences between bevel and miter cuts too!
Thanks for the encouragement! I’m getting the hang of it, but your tips really help!
Thanks for the tip about scribing! I’ll keep that in mind as I work through this.
