I'm about to buy a Festool track saw and I'm torn between getting the corded version or the cordless model. I do all my work in my basement shop and I don't need to move the saw around to different job sites. However, I'm not a fan of dealing with cords. Is the cordless version worth the extra hundred dollars or so? Will power be a concern with the cordless saw?

I faced a similar choice a while back. While I was tempted by the cordless option, I realized that batteries tend to degrade faster than the tools themselves. Plus, you don’t want to end up with a dead battery and have to worry if it's still available. If you’re focused on long-term use, corded might just be the way to go.
When comparing saws, I think it’s better to look at the TS 60 and the TSC 55 rather than the TS 55. The TS 60 gives you more cutting depth and flexibility with guide rails. I went with the TS 60 and it’s been a solid choice! The cord is a bit annoying, but it ensures you have the power when you need it, especially with dust collection going on. If you’re leaning toward other Festool equipment, the corded model can save you some hassle down the line.
