How to Garden When Renting?

Asked By GaT3K7x! On

I'm renting my current home, which limits my gardening options. I'm considering using raised planters on legs since they can be easily moved around. Is it possible to grow tomatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, or cucumbers in these planters? How deep should they be? I've done quite a bit of reading, but I'm still feeling overwhelmed by all the conflicting information. Any help would be appreciated!

Have you thought about using grow bags? They're super flexible and you can even fit tomato cages inside them for support with tomatoes and cucumbers. Plus, they're easy to move around when you need to!

Personally, I found grow bags to be amazing when I was in a rental. I managed to grow everything from tomatoes to even a watermelon! You can use around 10-gallon bags for squash and cucumbers, and 15-gallon for tomatoes. Just stick to one plant per bag for the best results.

You might find earth boxes helpful too. They’re designed for container gardening and can be a great option if you're short on space. Just make sure you get a good mix of soil for better growth.
