A few months ago, some tree limbs fell in my backyard during a storm. Now that the snow has melted, I contacted a tree service to remove them and check the health of the remaining trees. They informed me that two of the trees are leaning a lot and should be removed because they're close enough to both my and my neighbor's houses that they could pose a hazard if they fell. I'm inclined to trust their assessment, but since the cost is estimated at $6,000 to $7,000, I'd love to hear other opinions. Here's a link to a photo of the trees I'm referring to: [https://imgur.com/a/RPEa1it](https://imgur.com/a/RPEa1it). Do these trees look like they're leaning or stressed?

Honestly, they don’t look like they’re leaning too much. It’s possible they could stand for a while longer. I’d suggest calling around for estimates, and look for a local small service that has its own boom lift for a better price.
I recommend getting an inspection from an ISA Certified Arborist rather than just a local tree trimming service. They have the expertise to give you a solid assessment. Once you have that, consider shopping around for quotes for the actual tree removal work. It could save you some cash!
Definitely! An expert's opinion can make all the difference.
$6-7k for those two trees seems steep, at least where I live. Getting a couple more quotes wouldn’t hurt. You might find a better deal!
Yeah, I live in a townhouse, so they'll need to access through my neighbor’s yard, but I definitely don’t want to go with just one quote.
Thank you for this advice! I will definitely follow up with an ISA Arborist!
