I just moved into my first home and I've been enjoying doing simple repairs and upgrades. However, I've run into an issue with the guest bathroom shower—it's way too hot, even when I barely turn the handle for full pressure. All other taps and showers in the house seem fine temperature-wise. What can I do to fix this?

If you take off the cover of the handle, there's a way to adjust the mix of hot and cold water. I've seen plenty of YouTube videos demonstrating how to do this, and it’s usually pretty simple. It might just solve your problem!
Sounds like you might need to change the cartridge, which contains the mixing valve. Just make sure to buy a genuine part! You don't want a cheap plastic one that could crack easily.
Lol, he probably doesn't know that even the genuine parts are often made in China.
We've dealt with something similar in our new house. At first, it felt like no one believed me until we figured out the valve in the handle needed replacing. However, it required opening up the wall, so we opted to just replace the whole thing eventually. Good luck with yours!
To add to that, I found a helpful 59-second video showing the adjustment process. Just keep in mind that removing the handle might vary a bit depending on your hardware, but the overall method is the same. Check it out! Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/HMGURDdKBpM?si=xWXPfZiq7kMfNvvn
